Lexington (Kentucky) SAA is an autonomous registered group composed of recovering sex addicts who follow the Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions of Sex Addicts Anonymous (SAA).

Lexington SAA, as a fellowship of recovering sex addicts, extends to all who suffer from sexual addiction the message that you are not alone; There is hope of recovering from this addiction, and finding peace in your lives.
Here is a brief statement found on the homepage of the ISO of SAA, Inc., which we feel expresses very well what we in the Lexington SAA fellowship have found to be true in our lives:
“Through long and painful experience, we came to realize that we were powerless over our sexual thoughts and behaviors and that our preoccupation with sex was causing progressively severe adverse consequences for us, our families, and our friends. Despite many failed promises to ourselves and attempts to change, we discovered that we were unable to stop our addictive sexual behaviors by ourselves.
Many of us came to this realization when we started attending SAA meetings. In that setting we heard stories similar to ours and realized that recovery from our problem was possible. We learned through the SAA Fellowship that we were not hopelessly defective.
The basic principles of recovery practiced by SAA are found in the Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions of Alcoholics Anonymous. Although we are not affiliated with AA or with any other organization or agency, we are, indeed, grateful for permission to modify and apply the AA Steps and Traditions to sex addiction, making recovery possible for us.”

We currently have 3 weekly meetings in Lexington. All three meet within the facilities of Hope Springs Church, 1109 Versailles Road. The Monday evening meeting is now held in Suite 250, which is the right-hand entrance of the building on the right as you face them. The Thursday and Friday meetings are held in Suite 150, which is in the building on the left, in the first room to the right just inside the entrance.

At present, our 3 weekly meetings are as follows:
Monday evenings, 7:00 – 8:30 p.m.
Thursday evenings, 7:00 – 8:30 p.m.
Friday daytime, 12:00noon – 1:30 p.m.
Our tradition is that anyone who wishes to attend one of our meetings must be screened beforehand, to make sure you are in the right place. It is extremely important to us, and likely also to you, to protect our safety and anonymity, and thus we do adhere to the rule that only persons who desire to stop some kind of addictive sexual behavior are allowed to attend our meetings. Unfortunately we cannot allow friends, spouses, partners, family members, or anyone else to sit in the meetings.

Prior to attending a meeting, please try to contact one of the persons listed for the meeting you think you might attend first. That member will be able to answer questions for you, and make sure you will be looked for at that meeting. You certainly can just show up for a meeting, too, but we will then have one of our regular attendees sit down to chat with you for a minute or two before the meeting begins, just to protect you and us.
